Privacy Policy
The short version. TallyRig has no account and no login. Your calculations stay on your device. We don't run ads, we don't use analytics that track you, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone. We can't read your calculation history — we never receive it.
What stays on your device
Everything you type into a calculator, every saved result, your calculation history, your unit preferences and your dashboard order are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. None of it is sent to us.
If you have Pro and iCloud enabled, that data also syncs through your own iCloud account using Apple's key-value storage. That is a connection between your device and Apple — it does not pass through any server we control, and we have no access to it. You can turn it off in your device's iCloud settings.
Purchases
TallyRig is free to download with an optional one-time in-app purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details, billing address or Apple ID.
We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements (that is, to know whether this device has unlocked Pro, and to restore it if you reinstall or switch devices). RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous identifier, your purchase receipt from Apple, and basic device information such as device model, operating system version and country. It does not receive your name, email address or any of your calculations. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, sign-ups, email collection or passwords.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party analytics or behavioural tracking SDKs.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal data. There is nothing to sell.
- No location collection. The app never requests location permission.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone or camera.
Network connections the app does make
TallyRig is designed to work fully offline, and every calculator runs without a connection. A network connection is used only for:
- Purchases and restores — Apple and RevenueCat, as described above.
- Fonts — the app may fetch its typeface from Google Fonts the first time it is needed, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that ordinary web request. See Google Fonts' privacy note.
- iCloud sync — between your device and Apple, if you're a Pro user with iCloud on.
- Links you tap — such as the support form or the App Store, which open in your browser.
Sharing a result
When you tap Share, iOS opens the standard share sheet and you choose where the text goes — Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Notes, or another app. The content goes directly to whichever app you pick. It never passes through us.
App Store ratings
The app may ask you to rate it using Apple's standard in-app review prompt. Apple controls that prompt entirely; we don't learn whether you rated it or what you said.
Children
TallyRig is a professional tool intended for adults working in or training for the drilling industry. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to look up, export or delete on request. To remove everything the app has stored, delete the app from your device; to remove synced data, also clear TallyRig's data in your iCloud settings. For purchase records, Apple is the data controller — contact Apple Support.
If you are in the EEA, UK, California or another region with data-protection laws, the rights those laws give you still apply to the limited data described above, held by Apple and RevenueCat as our processors.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
Contact
Questions about privacy, or anything else: use the support form. It's read by the developer, not a support desk.
